Former Drug Sales Rep Tells All
Shahram Ahari, who spent two years selling Prozac and Zypraxa for Eli Lily, told a Senate Aging Committee that his job involved "rewarding physicians with gifts and attention for their allegiance to your product and company despite what may be ethically appropriate."
Ahari claims that drug companies often hire former cheerleaders and ex-models, as well as former athletes and... Read More Here

I’m sure many of you have heard of “The French Paradox.” The paradox being that the French enjoy good overall health and cardiovascular health in particular, in spite of the high fat content of the French diet.
The French paradox provided scientists with a real-world brain teaser for decades. Today, researchers attribute the phenomenon to the natural polyphenols found in red wine, including ... Read Entire Article Here
CNN Blows the Whistle on Vaccines and Autism
On April 2, 2008, CNN spent the day bringing awareness to the problem of autism. Larry King's segment, which included Jenny McCarthy along with a panel of guests, was particularly enlightening.
Our hats are off to Jenny, a celebrity mother who is making it quite uncomfortable for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to ignore parents of autistic children seeking answers.

In the April 2008 issue of the Harvard Health Letter, researchers explained how in many cases, the non-pharmacological approach can accomplish as much, or more, than expensive prescription drugs.

Harvard Professor Defends Sunshine, Vitamin D Link
Harvard Medical School professor Dr. Edward Giovannucci in an April speech to the American Association for Cancer Research spoke out about the proven link between sun exposure and vitamin D production..
He showed evidence that supports vitamin D's profound health benefits and that unprotected sun exposure helps the body produce the vitamin D it needs to keep bones healthy and ward off cancers and other ailments
For example:
According to one study, researchers found that men with high exposure to the sun had half the risk of prostate cancer than those with low sun exposure.
Another study found that high levels of vitamin D and calcium appeared to reduce women's risk of premenstrual syndrome, or PMS.
Editors’ note: More current studies continue to suggest that sunshine is a basic need for optimum health. I have written about this several times as it is becoming clear that sun avoidance is unhealthy, naturally, moderation is the key…
One major concern I have is the growing evidence that heavy use of SPF topical applications which are loaded with potentially hazardous chemicals may be damaging to your health.
This may be one of those occurrences where we find the truth some 10-15 years after the conventional wisdom says “always use a sunscreen”…The jury is out, but don’t be surprised to turn on the 6 o’clock news and find the conventional sunscreen wisdom to be repudiated...
Bet You Didn’t Know This Drink Can Help You Digest Better
Two new studies have confirmed that green tea extract can increase fat oxidation and improve insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance, even in healthy young adults.
In the first study, 12 healthy men performed a 30-minute cycling exercise before and after taking green tea extract. In the second, 11 healthy men took an oral-glucose-tolerance test before and after taking green tea extract. In both cases, their results improved after consuming the tea.
On average, fat oxidation rates were 17 percent higher, and insulin sensitivity 13 percent higher, after participants drank green tea extract, compared with taking a placebo. Want an affordable convenient way to get a super dose of pure green tea? Search no further, check this out
